#Airtel is fond of making PAYU / PayG a default plan when buying a new line. Even if you have an active data on the new line, they will still deduct from your
airtime when browsing the internet.
I've experienced this sad situation not quite long,
whereby I have an active data on my new Airtel line
and they keep deducting from my airtime anytime I
browse the internet.
Unlike other networks, they will tell you and even
give you a code to dial if you wish to browse as
PAYU anytime you exhaust your data bundle. That's
the main reason I am writing this post now, as many
people are facing such problem too.
How To Deactivate Airtel PAYU / PAYG Plan
It's quite simple to stop Airtel from deducting from
your airtime when browsing. I'll be dropping two
methods on how I achieved that. Kindly read along.
First Method
This method works if you don't have an active data
on your line and you wish to stop Airtel PAYU.
What you have to do is to subscribe for any data
plan. By doing so, you will be be opted out
automatically from Airtel PAYU. Just dial *141# and
choose your preferred data bundle.
You'll be asked what should happen when your
bundle finishes, just reply with 1, which is Stop My
Data.
Second Method
This method works for everyone. If you have an
active data on your line and Airtel keeps deducting
from your airtime balance, that means you are on
PAYU plan. This method will work for you.
What you have to do is to dial *400*1#. You'll get a
response saying "You have been unsubscribed from
Airtel FREE SURF offer".
That's all. You have successfully opted out of Airtel
PAYU plan. You can dial *400# if you wish to go back
to Airtel PAYU and continue browsing from your
airtime balance.

How To Transfer Airtime On Mtn, Glo, 9mobile & Airtel

In this post, I'll write on how to transfer airtime on the four giant networks in Nigeria namely #MTN, #9Mobile, #Glo and #Airtel; Including the various ways of activating their PINS/passwords to ease access.
HOW TO TRANSFER AIRTIME ON THE
DIFFERENT GIANT NETWORKS IN NIGERIA;
MTN, GLO, 9MOBILE & AIRTEL
MTN
MTN uses 'Share n Sell' as its means of transfer. To
begin this operation you are advised to change from
the default password of 0000 to your own
customized password.
To change your 'share n sell' password, there
are 2 methods of doing this:
First method: Send an SMS command to
777. For example, to change your PIN to
8214, simply write a text format like this,
0000 8214 8214 and send it to 777.
Second method: Here you can type in the
following USSD format
*601*0000*8214*8214# then Send/Ok.
Note: "8214" may be your new password.
After this operation a message will be sent to you to
confirm that you have successfully set your
password. If you have done this before now, you can
ignore and move on to transfer airtime as instructed
below. You may now proceed to the next step.
After you must have completed the password set-up;
You can now go on and
send the amount of airtime you want.
To do this, Assuming you want to transfer
N100 to 080*** and your password is 8214;
simply write an sms format like this; Transfer 080***
100 8214 and send to 777.
A message will be sent to you asking you to confirm
the transaction. All you do is send "YES" to 777.
You can also transfer credit using USSD like this:
*600*080000000*100*8214#. After successfully
transferring the airtime credit, you will receive a
message informing you that the transfer was
successful.
NOTE: You can transfer a minimum of NGN50 and a
maximum of NGN5,000 per transaction.
An amount of NGN10,000 can be transferred in a day.
Glo
Glo uses Me2U as its means of airtime
transfer for its subscribers. As a newbie, you
are advised to activate this service on your
line. To do this, dial
*132*00000*New Pin
*the PIN again# on your phone.
Note: It is a 5 digit pin unlike MTN that uses
four. If you don’t want to use the default Glo
Me2U PIN which is 00000, you can use any
other one of your choice. E.g, If 82146 is your
choice pin, you can dial
*132*00000*82146*82146# After this
operation you will receive a notification
asking you to confirm your new PIN. Press 1
to confirm and 2 if you want to cancel. You
are finally done with the setting up of your
PIN, you can now begin the transfer of
airtime credit.
To transfer airtime; use the USSD command,
*131*Glo Number*Amount*PIN# then Send/
Ok to transfer airtime. For instance, if you are
to send N100 to subscriber 08000000, simply
dial
*131*08000000*100*82146# then Send/Ok.
That's it!
9Mobile
9Mobile uses Easy Airtime Transfer as its
option of airtime transfer for its subscribers.
Firstly, you are advised to change from the
9Mobile default PIN to your own customized
PIN. To do this, simply dial
*247*0000*New
PIN# Send/Ok.
Example, to change your PIN to 8214, dial
*247*0000*8214# Send/Ok. This PIN will also
help you to protect your transactions and
special services like call barring.
Now to transfer airtime after you must have
completed your password set-up, dial in
*2223*CardPINNumber*100*08000000# then
Send/Ok.
Note: N100 may be the amount you want to
transfer.
Airtel
Airtel uses Me2U as its option of airtime
transfer for its subscribers. To begin with, as a
newbie you are advised to change from the
default Airtel PIN to your own customized
PIN to avoid intrusion from a third party.
To change your Me2U password/PIN, Send an
sms in this format: PIN 1234 8214.
Note: 8214 may be your new PIN as you
choose. You are to send the sms to 432.
After you must have sent it, you will receive
a notification telling you that "your new
password is 8214 or whatever numbers you
used."
After completing the activation of your new
password, to transfer airtime; If the amount
you want to send is NGN100 to 08000000.
Send an sms in this format "
2U 08000000
100 8214 ."
Note: don't include the quotes. After this,
you will receive a notification of a successful
transfer.

MTN XtraPro
MTN Xtra Pro is another exciting tariff plan and it is
quite affordable. With this plan, you can make calls at
11k/sec or 6.60k/min to all mobile networks in Nigeria.
However, the daily access fee to this plan is N5. If
you don’t have up to N5 when making your first call,
your calls will be charged at a rate of 20kobo/sec for
that whole day.
You can migrate to this plan by dialing *401# and
select 1 or you can simply text 401 to 131
MTN Xtra Special
MTN Xtra Special Plan is a tariff plan that allows you
to make calls to all mobile networks in Nigeria at
15kobo/sec or N9/min with your MTN line.
Also, the call rate to international countries is quite
cheap. You can make international calls to selected
countries at the same local rate of 15kobo/sec. These
countries include Australia, Canada, China, Germany,
India, Ireland, Malaysia, Netherlands, South Africa,
Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States,
Thailand, Sweden, South Korea, Israel, Hong Kong,
Norway, Pakistan, Romania, Finland, Denmark,
Cyprus, Singapore, Malta, Mexico, Bulgaria, and
