Fuoye Gets Nuc Accreditation For Six Postgraduate Programmes
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited six academic programmes of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Federal University Oye-Ekiti
( #FUOYE ), effective from 2019/2020 academic session.
The university began its postgraduate school from the 2018/2019 session with faculties of arts, science,
engineering, agriculture and social sciences which
jointly run 30 academic programmes.
With
the new accreditation, FUOYE postgraduate
programmes now have 36 courses.
Vice-chancellor
of the school, Prof. Kayode
Soremekun, listed the newly accredited programmes
as Food Science and Technology; Electrical and
Electronic Engineering; Material and Metallurgical
Engineering, Geology and Computer Science.
He said that
the management efforts at repositioning
FUOYE have begun to yield positive results with
many infrastructural projects dotting the landscape of
the twin campuses of the university.
He
added that #FUOYE would today, sign a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will
empower it to run Distance Learning programmes
after the NUC’s accreditation on the proposed courses.
“FUOYE is
also having an international conference on
Mechatronics Engineering tagged, “Capacity building
and globalisation in mechatronics.” The University is
equally hosting academics and researchers in a one-
day free workshop.
“The
workshop is featuring strategies for winning
postdoctoral positions, essential skills for preparation
of manuscripts for publication in high impact journals, embracing multidisciplinary and collaborative research and strategic skills for preparing grant-winning proposals.”
