MTN’s Credit or Airtime transfer is called “Share ‘N’ Sell”, with this you can transfer airtime to your family, friends and loved ones from your Main Account
Balance credit. And to ensure that nobody uses your credit to transfer credit to their own lines at their will,
it is password protected and you are the one that would create and choose your password so that you
would not forget easily.
How To Get Started
Before you can begin to transfer airtime or credit on
MTN’s Share ‘N’ Sell you have to change the default
pin to your preferred 4-digits pin. The default pin is
0000.
Through SMS
To change the default pin to your preferred 4-digits
pin, send “default PIN New PIN New PIN” to 777. For
example, to change the default PIN, SMS with ‘0000
1234 1234’ to 777. With “1234 1234” being your
preferred new pin, which can be any 4-digit
combination you can easily remember.
Through USSD Code
You can also change your PIN by dialing *600*default
PIN*New PIN* New PIN# on your phone and then
click on send/press ok. For example, dial
*600*0000*1234*1234# and then send/ok.
Immediately you change your PIN using any of the
options above, you will receive an SMS informing you
that your PIN was changed successful.
You can also use this method to change your pin
whenever you are suspicious of credit being
transferred out of your Main Account Balance.

To transfer credit from your phone to another MTN
user’s phone at any time, simply send an SMS with
Transfer, Recipient’s Number, Amount and PIN to 777.
For example, you can send an SMS with ‘Transfer
08031234567 1500 1234’ to 777. With 1500 being the
amount you wish to transfer and 1234 being your pin.
Upon sending this message, you will receive an SMS
asking you to confirm that you want to make the
transfer by sending an SMS with ‘YES’ to 777.
Through USSD
You can also transfer credit from your phone to
another MTN customer’s phone by dialing
*600*Recipient’s Number*Amount*PIN# on your
phone and then click on send/press ok. For example,
dial*600*08031234567*1500*1234# and then send/ok.
With 1500 being the amount you wish to transfer and
1234 being your pin.
When the transfer has been completed, you will
receive a message informing you that the transfer
was successful.
NB You can transfer between NGN50.00(Minimum) –
NGN5, 000.00(maximum) in a single transaction.
You can transfer up to NGN10, 000 .00 from your
phone to either a single or multiple transactions per
day. You can’t transfer more than N10,000 airtime per
day.
You can only transfer credit in Naira amounts and not
in kobo i.e. you can transfer NGN71.00 but not
NGN71.99.
Transaction Fee
All MTN Share ‘N’ Sell transactions attracts a nominal
transfer fee, the applicable transfer fee depends on
the value of the transaction.
For N1-N100, N1 would be deducted.
For N101-N500, N2 would be deducted.
For N501 – N1000 N5 would be deducted.
For N001 – N5000 N10 would be deducted.
For N5001 and above N50 would be deducted.
You will be notified about the exact fee to be
deducted anytime a Share N Sell transaction is
initiated. The transfer fee will be deducted only when
a confirmation or acceptance to continue is received
from the customer.
