How to install a WordPress theme?

What makes #WordPress one of the coolest CMS out there is the different types of themes which are available for websites which are powered by WordPress. It is not an overstatement that contemporary shoppers land on your WordPress website, read your material, subscribe to your service and buy goods using various technological devices which includes desktop, laptop, smartphones, and tablets. So your website must be compatible with all kinds of devices so that the users can easily navigate through the website and have the same experience using different devices.
Primarily, your web log is skinned by a WordPress #theme system. It’s not merely a skin, however. Your website skinning indicates only a change of design.
Themes from WordPress can give much more power over the glance and appearance of your website content. A WordPress Theme is a set of files which collaborate to generate the fundamental graphical interface for the weblog. The file which makes up the WordPress theme is called template files. A theme changes the way the site is shown to the user without changing the software behind it. A WordPress theme usually contains the following things:
Images ( JPG. / PNG / GIF)
Style Sheets ( .css )
Necessary code file ( PHP )
Installing a WordPress theme is really easy. As I said earlier there are many cool WordPress themes out there which can be installed on your website without having to pay a penny. There are a few ways in which you can install a WordPress theme on your website. I will show you how you can install a WordPress theme from your admin dashboard. So let’s start:


Step 1: You need to go to your website’s backend or for WordPress, it’s known as wp-admin. This is the universal login for WordPress website. Suppose your website is Example Domain then you need to type the URL as www.example.com/wp-admin.


Step 2: You need to make sure you login as an admin. There are different roles in WordPress which you can assign to the user and there is also an admin login. You can also assign users admin access. So you need to make sure you login as admin or any user who has admin access.


Step 3: On your dashboard, you will find a tab called Appearance. On this tab, you will find all the files which are related to your website theme. Click on Appearance.


Step 4: Under the appearance tab you will find a subtab called Themes. Here you will have the details of your current theme and the themes which are installed on your website. When you click on the appearance tab this will land you on the themes tab by default.


Step 5: On your themes tab there is a small option called Add New. To add a new theme you need to click on Add New.


Step 6: On this tab, you will find different options by which you can search for themes. You will find a few themes which are featured by WordPress followed by most popular themes, then the latest themes which are newly added. If you have any specific themes you want to install you can search the theme in the search box.


Step 7: Select the theme by clicking on the theme.
Then you need to click on install. This will install the theme on your website automatically.


Step 8: After you click install you will see that your theme is being installed. It will take 10 to 15 seconds.
So be patient.


Step 9: After the theme is installed on your website you need to click on the theme tab again.


Step 10: Now on this tab, you will find a theme which you just installed with all the other themes which are currently installed on your WordPress site.


Step 11: It is time to check your theme either you can select the live preview for testing the theme or you can activate the theme from the theme. So first let’s have a look inside how the theme looks. Click on the live preview


Step 12: On this tab, you will find all the options which will help you to customize your theme. Once you are happy with the customization just click on activate. I did not activate the theme as I am happy with my current theme.
