Guide For Adding Tumblr to Wordpress

Add Tumblr on Self-Hosted #WordPress Blog
1
Log in to your self-hosted WordPress blog.
WordPress is available on the WordPress
homepage as a hosted blog, or you can use the
WordPress platform on your own website. You can
add a specialized Tumblr widget, but only on a self-
hosted WordPress site for security reasons. If you
are unsure, your blog is most likely hosted by
WordPress and this section will not work for you.
2
Choose a widget that has been made for use
with Tumblr on WordPress.
You can choose the
Tumblr plugin. Choose another plugin called Vuvox
Express if you want to create a slide show of your
latest posts. This is a great option for a video or
photography-heavy Tumblr account.
3
Search for the Tumblr or Vuvox Express
Widget.
This is available in the Plugin Directory at
WordPress.org. Plugins are programming that
extend the abilities of a self-hosted WordPress Blog.
They will help you enable new widgets.
4
Download the latest version of the Tumblr or
Vuvox Express Widget.
You will see this as a
button in the right hand column of the page.
5
Upload "tumblr-widget.php" to your /wp-
content/plugins/ directory on your computer,
after the widget has downloaded.
This will allow
the widget to appear under the Widgets page of
your Appearance tab on your WordPress
dashboard.
6
Click and drag the Tumblr Widget box to the
"Sidebar" box on the upper right hand side of
the page.
You may need to drag it slowly so that
your browser scrolls up to the top right part of your
browser window.
7
Go to your blog to view the updated Tumblr
feed.

do it yourself by following certain rules as you post.
There are different processes for optimization when

Reasons Why You Will Never Make Money Blogging

So let’s get to the point:
You’re either new to blogging or you’ve been blogging for a while now and probably think you know everything there is to know about it.
You’ve probably learned how to use #WordPress …or #Blogger and have been playing around with it creating a good looking design.
You’ve even published several posts with a target of going viral, generating traffic and making money.
But it doesn’t happen that way, right? No success.
Duh… Looking back at all the months spent blogging,
no one cares about what you put out there; no one
reads your post.
Are you not forgetting something? I mean you may
be missing out on something:
Your readers.
I know the excitement that comes with owning a
blog and putting out content to make quick bucks,
but to save you from making any more blogging
mistakes, here are a few mistakes you should avoid:
1. You are not concerned about Finding and
growing a Niche
What is your blog about?
Tech? News? Business? Food?
Lots of new bloggers fall into the trap of writing
whatever the hell that comes in their head. A
passion, or niche can not only help boost your traffic
but also grow your audience.
Look for what you’re good at and write about it.
2. Blogging for the Money
So you want quick money blogging? I hate to break
it to you but blogging isn’t for you pal.
All of the people who jump into blogging while
dreaming of $$$ hardly ever succeed.
Why?
This is because blogging is a skill that takes passion
as a prerequisite. Getting listed on Google alone
might take about 2 months. Without the passion to
create valuable content and using the required
marketing strategy to achieve great traffic, you will
be disappointed in the long run.
The race for quick wealth can often lead to many
mistakes; don’t let blogging be one of them.
3. Copying Other People’s Content
We call it plagiarism. That’s right.
So many new bloggers come along the statement
“Content is King” and end up pumping out lots of
low-level content by copying other people’s work
without due credit.
Do you know what happens after that? All the effort
generally goes to waste because search engines don’t
rank these low-quality posts compared to better
higher quality ones.
Never sacrifice quality for quantity and always keep
in mind that one good solid post is a lot better than a
bunch of low-quality ones. Besides, with the
advancement of search engine algorithms, bottom
feeders that go about copying people’s content are
easily latched out. Don’t make that mistake. Create
your content.
4. Too Many Ads
I know you will agree with me that most ads that
show up on web pages are not only painfully
irritating but also annoying. Truth is, too many ads are
not just bad for users but for S.E.O as well.
Want to drive traffic and keep your visitors coming
back to your blog, don’t use too many Ads.
5. Your blog lacks User-friendliness
A number of new bloggers seem to be so focused on
traffic that they never stop to look at the design of
their blog.
Your blog shouldn’t be a maze to navigate through. It
should be designed in a way that is easy for the user
and in a way in which it properly displays your
content.
Ever stopped to take a look at your font? How about
your blog’s color combination?
People come to blogs to gain information, if your blog
is unreadable then there’s no point of it even being
there.
6.Not promoting your blog
Have you ever wondered how most blogs usually
end up on the first page of Google search, and others
don’t?
Hard work!
A key mistake so many new bloggers make is
relying so much on search engines and nothing else.

CSS files can be modified according to the design as
per users need.
There are many plugins and templates available for
free. Users can customize the various plugins as per

Now you have
successfully installed WordPress on your blog and

WordPress script.

add plugins, customize site and theme , do all
required site settings and every other thing a needed
on your WordPress blog.
Now you have a running WordPress blog but I know

3 Steps On How to Export and Import a Wordpress Blog

Part One of Three: Exporting #WordPress Blogs
1 Sign into your existing WordPress blog. Click on your
blog name, and select "Dashboard" from the menu.
You should see a list of options on left hand side of
your screen.
2 Find the "Tools" menu on the left hand side, near
the bottom of the dashboard. Choose the "Export" box
from the list of options. You will most likely want to
export your content first, so you can import it
somewhere else.
3 Decide how much of your content you want to
export. The top option is "All Content," and it is the
most popular choice. Click "Download Export File" to
create an "XML" file of your entire blog on your
computer. You may see the option "Guided Transfer"
on your Export page. This is a service, provided by
WordPress.com, for approximately 119. They will
export your website and import it onto the site of
your choice. If you choose to download the Extensible
Markup Language (XML), or website, file, it is always
completely free of charge. Some uploads, photos and
links may not be exported into your file.
You may need to re- upload some of this content
onto your new website.
4 Place the file in an easy to access folder, or on your
desktop. You will need this file in order to import it
later.
Part Two of Three: Importing WordPress Blogs
1 Go to your WordPress.com or WordPress.org
website. Go to the blog page. Find the Tools section
of the Dashboard and select the "Import" option. You
can try to transfer your WordPress.com or .org blog to
a non-WordPress platform. Some content that does
not match the website format may be lost.
WordPress is free, and open-source, so if a web
programmer can install the WordPress.org software
on your new website, it may be the easiest option.
You will already have familiarity with how the blog
can be changed, leading to fewer problems.
2 Choose the Wordpress option, and then choose the
XML file on your computer. Click "Upload" to upload
the XML file to the new blog. Select "Download &
import file attachments" to move your media along
with the rest of your blog.
Part Three of Three: Importing and Exporting
WordPress Databases
1 Assign a web developer to export your database, if
you have never dealt with coding before. It is
important to follow exact instructions to make sure
your database stays intact and uploads properly to a
new website.
2 Login to your local "MyAdmin" to export your
private CMS database. Under WordPress, click the
"Structure" tab and then the "Export" option. Click the
box for "Add drop table/drop view" and the box to
"Save as file."
3 Click "Go" to download a Structured Query
Language (SQL) file. Open the file in a text editor
program. Select the find function to find all of the
previous URL (website) addresses.
4 Replace each old URL address with the new domain
address. You can click "Replace All" to do this in 1
step. Check your document to make sure all the URL
addresses are changed before saving the file.
5 Create a new database for your new domain.
Login to your server and go to "MySQL Databases."
Create a new database and assign it a new user to
serve as an administrator.
6 Login to the "MyAdmin" for your new database.
Under the "Import" tab, select the file you just
downloaded, changed and saved. Click "Go" to upload
the file to your WordPress platform.
7 Find the "wp-config." file on your server. Change
the database details, replacing them with the new
server and domain settings.
